Joshua McCarthy
The Austin Smith Foundation is proud to award a $2,500 scholarship to Joshua McCarthy.
Joshua attended Dayton High School, where he was actively involved in both his school and community through a variety of extracurricular activities and volunteer efforts.
Joshua participated in cross country and track & field throughout his school. He was actively involved in his church and youth groups, participated in FFA, and volunteered with numerous organizations and community events. In addition, Joshua served as a wildland firefighter and volunteered with the Dayton Fire District, demonstrating a strong commitment to public service and helping others.
Joshua will be attending Chemeketa Community College, where he plans to pursue a degree in Fire Science and earn his EMT certification.
The Austin Smith Foundation is honored to present this scholarship to Joshua as he continues his education and works toward a career dedicated to serving and giving back to his community.
Elise Jones
The Austin Smith Foundation is pleased to recognize Elise Jones as a recipient of a $2,500 scholarship in support of her educational goals and commitment to service.
A graduate of Newberg High School, Elise distinguished herself through leadership, volunteerism, and a dedication to helping others. During high school, she served as President of the Black Student Union, where she helped foster inclusion and build community among her peers.
Fluent in Spanish, Elise has used her language skills to make a meaningful impact by volunteering as a translator on her church’s mission trips to Mexico. Through this work, she assisted with communication efforts and supported outreach projects serving local communities.
This fall, Elise will attend Point Loma Nazarene University to pursue a degree in nursing with an emphasis in pediatrics. Her goal is to develop the expertise needed to care for children and families while making a positive difference both in her community and around the world.
The Austin Smith Foundation is honored to support Elise as she takes the next step in her educational journey and works toward a future centered on compassion and service.
Mikayla Davidson
The Austin Smith Foundation is proud to award a $2,500 scholarship to Mikayla Davidson in recognition of her academic achievements, leadership, and dedication to serving her community.
Mikayla graduated from St. Paul High School, where she was actively involved in a wide range of school activities and community service opportunities. A dedicated student-athlete, she participated in volleyball, cross country, track and field, and summer basketball. She also held leadership positions in FFA and student body, while maintaining membership in the National Honor Society.
Through the Willamette Career Academy, Mikayla earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and completed her EMT certification. She plans to use these skills while volunteering with the St. Paul Fire Department, continuing her commitment to helping others.
This fall, Mikayla will attend Montana State University to pursue a degree in nursing. She hopes to eventually specialize in pediatric oncology.

Ivan Isidro Duarte Alvarez
The Austin Smith Foundation is proud to award a $2,500 scholarship to Ivan Isidro Duarte Alvarez in recognition of his academic achievements, community involvement, and dedication to public service.
Ivan attended Dayton High School, where he was actively involved in both his school and community through a variety of extracurricular activities and volunteer efforts. As a student-athlete, he participated in soccer and track & field while also maintaining membership in the National Honor Society.
Committed to serving others, Ivan has volunteered with the Dayton Fire District as a firefighter and currently serves as a bilingual medical instructor. Through these roles, he has demonstrated leadership, compassion, and a strong commitment to helping those in his community.
This fall, Ivan will attend George Fox University to pursue a degree in nursing. In addition to his nursing education, he plans to further his paramedic training and ultimately hopes to build a career in air medical transport, working with organizations such as Life Flight Network.
The Austin Smith Foundation is honored to support Ivan as he continues his educational journey and pursues a career dedicated to healthcare, emergency services, and serving others.
